As some of you know I'm trying to achieve one of my biggest dream. The people who knows me, knows that I have always wanted to study in The Netherlands. Three years ago I had that opportunity for the first time and I let it because many reasons such as: money, language and I have to accept that maybe the main reason was that I was afraid.
But fortunately life offers us the opportunity to change and reinvent ourselves at every moment. So, after thinking thoughtfully I made the decision to try again. I heard about the Huygens Scholarship Programme and I decided to apply for one of this scholarship. This kind of scholarships are intended for talented (excellent) students. One of the main requirements was that you should be nominated by one Dutch institution. The programme is highly competitive, and I don't know if I'm smart enough, but I should try it.
Well, since I was nominated by the University of Groningen a glimmer of hope lit up my dream. Now I'm here waiting for the scholarships results, which will be published just within 27 days. I know is difficult to obtain one of this scholarships because are highly demanded. I was the applicant number 1571 and there's only 150 grants. So the countdown begins, within 27 days my destiny will be defined. Meanwhile I have picked up my English classes.
For the first time in my life I'm taking private English lessons with Steve, a professor from the North of England. Last friday was my first lesson and I must confess that his accent was a little difficult. He speaks very quick but it's an opportunity to improve my listening comprehension.
We'll see what fate holds for me...
